  • Individual Awards

    • This award recognizes a student that has made a lasting contribution to the Texas State community throughout their academic career. This student has achieved academic excellence, held leadership positions, shown Bobcat pride, and served as a role model to fellow students.

      Nominees must have at least a 2.5 Texas State GPA and have at least 60-89 credit hours to be eligible. 

    • This award recognizes a new student to an organization who has demonstrated initiative, motivation and leadership potential within their organization and the Texas State community.

    • This award is given to a student leader who has demonstrated outstanding leadership and service to Texas State and the local community. Academic achievements, commitment to their respective organization(s) and Texas State, and involvement in campus activities are considered.

    • This award serves to recognize any graduate student who serves as a student organization advisor. The award recipient should demonstrate a strong ability to lead their student organization while providing consistent support, feedback, and availability.

    • Any faculty/staff advisor to a Chartered Student Organization* may receive this award. The advisor must have a strong educational role within the group and have helped students learn through their involvement. The nominee should demonstrate dedication, availability, and energy in their involvement with their students. They should be valued and respected by those students with whom they work and have a strong understanding of the organization's needs and goals. 

      Note: Only advisors listed on the organization roster through Student Involvement/MAKO are eligible for this award.  

      *Chartered Student Organizations are student organizations that are sponsored by a university department or auxiliary organization that assumes responsibility for the organization as defined in UPPS No. 07.04.

    • Any faculty/staff advisor to a Registered Student Organization may receive this award. The advisor must have a strong educational role within the group and have helped students learn through their involvement. The nominee should demonstrate dedication, availability, and energy in their involvement with their students. They should be valued and respected by those students with whom they work and have a strong understanding of the organization's needs and goals. 

      Note: Only advisors listed on the organization roster through Student Involvement/MAKO are eligible for this award.  
  • Organization Awards

    • The Student Organization of the Year award is presented to ONE organization that has made a significant effort to further its purpose through its contribution to Texas State University and the San Marcos community. This award recognizes the student organization that has demonstrated consistent flexibility, initiative, creativity, and perseverance through their activities and programs. Furthermore, the organization embodies the Bobcat spirit through its commitment to leadership development, collaboration among groups, and programmatic efforts to enhance the quality of campus life at Texas State University. The Student Organization of the Year is considered a role model for other organizations on our campus.  

    • These awards recognize NINE organizations who have exemplified outstanding achievements and organizational development among their peer organizations.  Groups are eligible to apply for only ONE category below. Organizations will be awarded based on the following categories:  

      1. Academic/Honors/Professional  
      1. Chartered  
      1. Fraternity/Sorority 
      1. Multicultural  
      1. Religious & Spiritual  
      1. Residence Hall  
      1. Service  
      1. Special Interest /Political
      1. Sports Club /Recreational
  • Programmatic Awards

    • The awards in this category aim to recognize the accomplishments of organizations as it relates to programs and events planned, organized, and hosted by the organization.

      Categories for these awards will be announced at a later date.
